Having a tooth replaced can be daunting. I, myself, have had many an anxious filled night wondering how much pain the surgery (and yes, it is surgery) would cause and how long the pain would last afterwards. Of course there are the customary questions of, “will the new fake tooth fit all right?” or, “will the new fake tooth be the right color?” and, “how soon before I can eat again?” The last question is the one that weighs on me the most… no pun intended.

But, what if I didn’t have to have my tooth replaced? Or, more to the point, what if I could just grow another tooth?

We all know the human body contains two sets of teeth. Deciduous teeth (or baby teeth) are all gone by the time you reach 12 to 13 years old. After that, your adult teeth come in and, that’s all folks. Those puppies have to last the rest of your life, so take care of them!

But what if those two sets aren’t your last? Enter – Stem Cell Treatments.

Teeth contain quite a bit of dental stem cells. What are stem cells? Well, from birth, the body is equipped with different types of cells that help you grow, you. From your organs to every system in your body, all of them are made up by cells.

Teeth hold a reservoir of cells that could be used to do many things like help heal a cavity before a tooth requires a root canal or Stem cells may be able to repair dental pulp and direct the immune system to remove tooth decay-causing bacteria.

Studies have also identified a network of genes that are responsible for tooth development and lifelong tooth regeneration in sharks. Genes that humans naturally possess. So, perhaps one day, we could also go through 30,000 teeth in a lifetime.

Until then, if you are having issues with your smile, you can find a great dentist on www.DentistUSA.com.
