In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month and National Dental Hygiene Month, we thought we should cross-promote the two fantastic causes by encouraging all those who wear braces to change their rubber bands to pink.

It’s a simple symbolic gesture to show all our wives, mothers, sisters, aunts and friends that we are thinking about them during a turbulent time in their lives. So at your next appointment just ask your orthodontist to change your rubber bands to pink in solidarity with breast cancer awareness month.

Breast cancer affects million people in the United States.  According to the Huffington Post, “nearly 40,000 women will die of breast cancer in the U.S. in 2011 alone.”

To help promote Breast Cancer Awareness month and National Dental Hygiene Month, DentistUSA.com is giving away a Phillips Sonicare Toothbrush benefiting Susan G Komen for the Cure. Enter here on our Facebook page!

So let’s all stand together with those battling breast cancer for National Dental Hygiene Month.  Remember to brush for at least two minutes, two times a day to maintain a healthy smile.  If you need to read up on proper brushing techniques, take a look at the ADHA’s info sheet right.

Don’t forget, if you want to enter to win a Phillips Sonicare Toothbrush benefiting Susan G Komen for the Cure, enter here on our Facebook page!
